The Sahih Bukhari Online has a built in search engine and also is compatible to copy and paste texts to common Word-processing & desktop publishing packages.  Please read through the following instructions to understand its features and also to make use of its functionality.

Hide/Show Contents

 

This function is in order to enable larger window view of the results.  Click on the arrows to hide/show the contents, also it is advised to Hide Contents whilst printing, as the contents frame will appear in the output.

 

Banner Buttons

These functions are restricted for The Qur'an Online.  They (from left to right):

  • Print

  • Page back

  • Page Forward

  • Full Screen

  • Small Screen (Restores)

 

 

 2. Search Function ∆ 

 

This version of the Sahih Bukhari has a fully functional search engine. 

 

 

When the Search Tab is clicked the Search function will load.    

 

Please note: It is restricted to accept only English language input.

 

The hadith references have been separated so each hadith can appear to view on its own.  To distinguish them from the search list please look for the titles as they will appear as the reference number e.g. V1B1H1. 

 

 

 

 

Hint: in order to view just by Hadith number just remove the tick from þ Match whole words and then type as follows: 

 

N125 This means Number 125. 

 

Please note: that this method will bring all similar Hadith numbers such as 125/125m in another volume

 

 

 Highlight

 

It has the option of turning on/off  Highlight  (default off).

 Hadith Navigation

There are arrow keys on the hadith pages.  These are to link the pages together and to easily navigate between them.

= Previous Hadith

= Next Hadith

= End of Chapter

= Next Chapter

 

 

 3. Copy & Paste Function ∆

 

The software interface allows you to copy & paste, as you would do in any Word Document..

 

 

All ahadith are in English Translation.   Highlight  the text using your mouse or cursor.  You may also use the mouse to right click and copy or shortcut keys such as Ctrl+C to copy.

 

 

 3. Technical ∆ 

 

 Java Script ∆

 

 

The Noble Qur'an has Java dependant functions.  Please ensure you have the latest Java Patches installed for your browser and that it is enabled.

 

Enable Java script

Our menu for navigating the site is based on java script, so will not work unless you enable it find out how

To enable java script on your relevant browser please follow the instructions below

 Internet Explorer 4.x  or Higher
Go to "View | Internet Options..." from the main menu
Change to the "Security" tab
Select "Custom" and click on the "Settings..." button
To enable: make sure "Enable" is selected under "Active scripting"
Restart the browser

 Internet Explorer 3.x
Go to "View | Options..." from the main menu
Change to the "Security" tab
To enable: make sure "Run ActiveX scripts" check box is checked
Restart the browser

 Netscape Communicator 4.x  or Higher
Go to "Edit | Preferences..." from the main menu
Select "Advanced" panel
To enable: make sure "Enable JavaScript" check box is checked.
Restart the browser

 Netscape Navigator 3.x
Go to "Options | Network Preferences..." from the main menu
Change to the "Languages" tab
To enable: make sure "Enable JavaScript" check box is checked
Restart the browser

Simply reloading the page, rather than restarting the browser, maybe sufficient under some browser versions.

 

 Memory Overflow ∆ 

 

Sometimes if a search is run which finds over 500 results it will display a dialog box prompting for action:

 

 

This dialog box is how it appears in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

 

If you click on No for the search to continue then the application may become unresponsive (this depending on your computers memory).  It is best to redefine the search.
